its 4:09

Its 4:09 in the AM and I'm on Facebook just checking up on friends and seeing how they are doing. Sleep has been a natural thing to me and it comes when it wants hence why I am not snoring my ass off right now. While surfing and perusing through my long list of friends, I stumbled on an old friend's page. I was just about to put a little greeting till I saw her Facebook status and I was ASTONISHED! it says "Ola sez I love love. I find it precious, crazy, and a true definition of "life on the edge." " In case you didn't know, that was a quote in one of my previous blogs entitled, "Love." This leads to my real topic: Writing.

The joy of writing is when someone reads what you write, then appreciate what they learned. It makes me happy that at least someone gets affected one way or another negatively or positively. That's why I rhyme as well. I feel my words are meant to influence someone to do something with their life. If someone is chilling at home, I hope my words that are written down aurally can influence that someone to at least get up off their seat and do something productive. I hope my blogs do the same to people who are stuck on the Internet doing nothing with their lives. I mean, I would consider me making this blog doing nothing with my life but writing and making music is my life! I wouldn't have it any other way! I treat this as my occupation but also like my woman. Sure we might have some arguments when I can't think of anything to talk about; but when I do, we can go on all night long without pain. It defines refreshing and represents water; and when someone drinks that water, takes in all the nourishment, and feels refreshed, I feel content. With that being said, I would love to thank Mr. Shamoun, my freshman English teacher who helped me open my eyes to music and poetry, Jamie my RA and on campus sister, Ola and her shout out, and every single person who looks at my blog...........Just follow me next time you pass by......

The Grammys

It was a very interesting night at the Grammys on Sunday. Coldplay came out as the biggest winner and a stunning performance with Hova to boot. UK songstress, Adele came out as victor and surprisingly as best new artist. Jennifer Hudson dominated a beautiful performance. You can tell her bravery came into play as the tears fell from her cheeks. I was flabbergasted when MIA came out pregnant with a skimpy outfit on when she did Swagger Like Us with 4 credible Emcees; speaking of which, 4 emcees came out with the intention of setting Grammy history with a Hip-Hop summit. Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and T.I looked like young business men in their prime decimating the stage setting an image youngsters should always acquire. Paying homage for the Fourtops was Ne-yo, Smokey Robinson, Jamie Foxx, and Abdul "Duke"Fakir. Justin Timberlake and Al Green were amazing on stage. T.I and Timberlake set the tone for the last half of the show while Wayne and Robin Thicke set a lasting message in our heart of New Orleans and the endless talent they possessed. Katy Perry was well....Katy Perry. Bono did amazing as the opening act for the show. Much respect!

However, what made it a little bit...bad to me were certain things like Lil Wayne winning best Rap Album. I understand why it was nominated, but against monumental works of art like The Cool, and Nigger; against lyrical and great productions of American Gangster and Paper Trail, that album shouldn't be even close to winning. It depressed me that his album was picked among 4 other pieces that obviously should have gotten that grammy nod. although I gave MIA props in the first paragraph, I'm still mad that she came out knowing she was expecting a child that same day. Maybe she wanted to tell the child "Hey! you performed with me at the Grammys! Isn't that cool?" but I still thought it was stupid. Four words. Miley. Cyrus. can't. sing. Kanye West was pretty dope, but what the fuck was he wearing on stage with Estelle??? He looked like a bootleg Micheal Jackson. His haircut had no reason for it to exist! I expected more from my dude Ye because I take from him I his style of clothing but not yesterday! Stevie Wonder is pretty dope, who put him together with the Jonas Brothers? They were going hard when everything Stevie does defines smooth and soulful. I felt they were destorying everything that Stevie was trying to do on that stage. Not a good look. Katy Perry was..well...Katy Perry...lol.

All in all, everything at the Grammys was cool, but not cool at the same time. Rap finally got recognized as one of the greatest genres but was quickly taken away with a horrible pick for a Grammy nod, UK artists are the shit! But Chris Brown became the stereotype of a crazy black man and hit Pop singer, Rihanna for whatever reason. Even outfits weren't all that great. But what can you say? All of these elements make up the Grammys. I LOVE IT NO MATTER WHAT!!!

Love

Well...It's Wednesday...I'm eating a turkey sandwich (tryna go on a diet I hear wheat bread n turkey does the trick) and I get an IM from my girlfriend of 1 year and 4 months stating she wants to end the "break" we are having currently since last week. We have some problems that are, in my opinion, detrimental to the bond we share. I won't get into the problems simply because I don't know you guys like that (lmao bad joke, bad joke? nah i just don't want to write all that here) . However, I can tell you what I feel love means to me and why I fight for it so my girl and I can be happy.

Love. What in the world is that word? It's so awesome that no one can put a meaning to it. It has so many definitions. It's weird because I'd figure that if a word had that much power...it would be more than 4 letters like supercalifragilisticexpialidocious; but we can also live with the saying "big things come in small packages." This word's history has been passed down for ages as different words. Greeks had different forms of it: Eros (sexual love) philia (friendship love) and agape (caring for someone you don't even know) It's a real sight to behold how much praise this word has gotten. So my only question is...why is it such a harlot? Everybody uses it underestimating its true power. Even I mess up A LOT and use it for stupid reasons. It seems too delicate and detailed, too deep and beautiful for it to be used as if it is some common word. Well, that's how society claims it. I feel that you have the freedom to say a lot of things and you can tell yourself how much one word means to you. In my opinion, this word is awfully beautiful and there is a reason as to why its so sensitive. I love love. I find it precious, crazy and a true definition of "life on the edge." See, when you say you love your significant other, you are also saying I want to be with you where ever you go. I don't know where we gonna land but I know if you are co-captain I put absolute faith and trust in you. That's how its suppose to be. Love (or at least that form of love)is hard to keep but once you have it in your grasp, its all about maintaining it's beauty and keep praising it.

Now I have no idea what will become of me and my girl at this moment and time, but I know I'm losing what made our love. And I need to get that back.....

Anime!

What's Hip Hop Bloggers? I'm in a pretty good mood considering the fact that I just got me a batch of instrumentals from my homie Akili. (btw ya'll better look out for the Epi-F-AnY EP coming soon its gonna be dope!!) While I'm listening to them, I decided to create a blog on the account of the immense inspiration im aquiring from this man's talented seeds that might prosper into something outrageously beautiful.

I have a very sketchy laptop backround. Not "sketchy" as in "suspect" but sketchy as in, its a sketch..lol... It's a character named Akira from the Japanese animation hit called "Air Gear." The details on the guy's face are crazed. Just by judging it without even reading the comic, you can make very closely related assumptions, some assumptions can even be "off the radar." The grey aestetics shows his flawless and dark focus, the black outlining shows his "alter relm" where he feels time has slown down because he is using every ounce of strength to attack his opponents. His eyes not only show's his "fang road" (you gotta watch the show or read the manga in order to know bout that) but his true intentions as an "A-T rider".

No matter how you call it, anime is my second love next to music. If I never had anime in my life, then parts of me would never exist. Ever dreamed of flying? Well, I made it my goal to fly in grade school. I think about white or gold aura just hovering all around me like Goku or Gohan and just fly at super sonic speeds. I thought about throwing kunais and becoming a master of a katana. I wanted to be a master at kung fu and learn to teleport and use scrolls to bring various animals to life to do my biddings like Naruto. Its my imgination that makes me who I am. I try my best to embrace reality but it rejects my imagination...so I bring it to life on paper and mp3 formats hense me rapping...AND WHAT REALITY?? (loopholesss lol) I feel that Japan''s culture stimulates my mind more than any other country out there. Their style and how its expressed through anime is beautiful musically and creatively. They even go as far as stimulating the sexual mind with Hentai (octopus having sex with females wtf??). It just makes you wonder...how will life be if it was boundless...no laws of gravity, no laws of friction, no rules to who you suppose to mate with and you end up having "octomen and octowomen" everywhere, everyone and everything had a special power....It's a beautiful, funny, crazy, and some times edgy thing to think about. Just imagine the world with limitless abilities....our bodies run on Chi...or Ki...or Chakra....And we can be mages that do kung fu and fly...thats what I want to do....I want to fly from my problems...think of a master plan...come back and use my kung fu and my animals to fight them. Then come back to my blog and talk all about it. Thank God I can do it all on paper.

For Now...

Peace

I love Ritz n chocolate milk....

It's like the new cookies and milk; I suggest you guys try it...ITS REALLY GOOD. Other than that i like a lot of other things and bravery is one of them.

Bravery-brave spirit or conduct; courage; valor.

It is an awesome feeling to be brave. To have the courage to do things that no one else can do, the valor to exemplify greatness, and the brave spirit to get through so many things and come out looking like nothing touched you is pure beauty. You know what's better than Ritz, chocolate milk, and bravery? A woman showing her bravery.

woman- a sweetheart or paramour; mistress.

A woman can be best described as a "sweetheart" or "paramour" or even a "mistress;" however, she couldn't be brave, or have a "brave spirit." when valor comes to mind I think of the video game "Man of Valor" but not a "Woman of Valor." But all that should change since 09 is a new year and according to our fellow president "Change has finally come," so lets make it happen with a Superbowl opener by Jennifer Hudson. (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1604035/20090201/hudson__jennifer.jhtml) As you all know, this woman lost her mother, brother, and nephew all in one day. I don't know her relationship with any of them personally, but I can say it takes a heartless person to not be effected by it, it takes a heart filled person to deal with it, and it takes a heart filled person with courage to get through it. This woman deserves a lot more. She looked like a new woman on the field. It's as if she was one of the players trying to show her audience that she can play in this "sport of music." There is confirmation that she lip-synched the performance. I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK in my opinion. Do you know how many people know about her tragedy? Do you know how many people at home watched that superbowl knowing her tragedy? Do you know how many people were in the stadium thinking she might fuck it up? I believe she was courageous to even sing in front of all those people knowing that they know her whole situation and still manage to blow every single person away recoreded or live! I sat there in my college's cafeteria watching the event with 50-60 other heads. Never have I seen people actually stand up in front of the TV just because the anthem was playing. Every person knew her valient effort and how it touched their hearts. She is definitly a "Woman of Valor," a "Misstress of bravery," and "A Paramour of Courage." Ms. Hudson, i raise my Chocolate milk and Ritz crackers to you and your family

So I decided to make sure I was'nt out the loop and show them i have an interesting life too. Welp....its 4:00AM....so i say to my fellow future bloggers, my catch phrase you will see ever so often....
